Richard Facko, DDS, MS
I was born and raised in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, and have been in Palos Heights since I was 2 years old. After graduating from Palos 128, I went to Marist High School, and then Indiana University - Bloomington, where I majored in biochemistry. The University of Illinois - Chicago is where I spent four years of dental school and an extra two-years of residency in pediatric dentistry. Today, I am happy to have a practice in the same community where I live! I am both a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
I am currently serving on the Board of Education at Palos 128. I also serve as Board President for GiGi's Playhouse - Tinley Park, whose mission is "To change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all". I have the privilege of coaching three of my kids' youth hockey teams. In my free time, I like to run, ride my bike, and spend time with family.
My wife, Cassie, and I have four children, Lexie, Rich, Marie, and Annie. Annie, our youngest, has taught us a lot about what's really important in life - she was born with Down syndrome and amazes us every day with her personality and accomplishments.
Serving families in the same community where I grew up has a special meaning that not many people have the privilege of experiencing, and I'm grateful for the trust that our patient families put in me to care for their children! I'm looking forward to seeing you at the office (or around town)!
Brittany Bauer, DMD, MS
I was born and raised in the West Suburbs of Chicago. I spent most of my childhood in St. Charles, IL until switching high schools between my sophomore and junior year and graduating from Wauconda High School in the Northwest suburbs. During my youth, a majority of my time was devoted to participating in competitive gymnastics, which I did for nearly 14 years. Following high school, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I dedicated most of my free time during my 4 years of dental school by running the Chicago Marathon every year to help fundraise money to provide dental treatment to homeless families in Chicago. I continued my education to specialize in pediatric dentistry at a two-year residency program in Indianapolis, IN where I served as Chief Pediatric Dental Resident at Riley Hospital for Children caring for medically compromised children and those with specific healthcare needs. Upon completion of my program, I received my certificate in pediatric dentistry and Masters of Science in Dentistry degree from Indiana University.
My fiancé, Joe, and I are currently very busy with planning our upcoming winter wedding. For now, Joe and I have two cats named Baggy and Josie. In my free time I love to run, travel, scuba dive, and go on fishing trips with my family.
During my time in residency, I had the privilege of living with my 3-year-old nephew and 1-year-old niece, who I will miss very much (and be traveling back to visit frequently)! However, I am very excited to be back home permanently to help care for the smiles of the Southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Melissa joined our team in June 2020. She studied dental hygiene at Prairie State College and graduated in 2005. Melissa previously worked in a general dental office in Elmhurst sine she graduated. Melissa has always loved working with children and can't wait to meet yours. She loves to talk and is a great educator. With all her years of experience she can't wait to share her knowledge with you. After seeing Melissa, your child will know everything they need to do to keep a healthy beautiful smile. Melissa has three amazing children at home who keep her busy. They love doing things as a family like bike rides, walks, and exploring trails. In her spare time Melissa loves to run and practice yoga.
Tina lives in Crestwood with her husband and three wonderful children: Jeremy, Abby and Olivia. They have three super cool cats: Speedy, Lavender and Snuggles. When she is not here at the office answering your insurance questions, she is at home hanging out with her kids in the backyard pool, baking or watching movies. She is very active in all of her kids' sports as team mom most seasons!
Patient Care Coordinator
Elena joined our team in 2020. She was born and raised in the south suburbs, and has always had a passion for the healthcare industry. While this is her first experience in dentistry, she has worked in other healthcare fields for many years. She finds joy in building relationships with families and believes that a smile can go a long way. In her spare time, she enjoys attending baseball games, watching movies, and spending time with her fur baby, Lola.
Cassie Facko grew up in Orland Park and is happy to call the Southwest Suburbs home. She attended Carl Sandburg High School, followed by the University of Illinois in Champaign. Cassie majored in Spanish and even spent a semester abroad in Barcelona. Following Cassie's undergraduate studies, she earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Governor’s State University. Cassie has always loved working with children, and her diverse background gives her a unique set of skills with kids at our office.
In her limited spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and watching the Blackhawks.
Precious joined our team in November 2013 as a dental assistant. Precious has called the Chicago area home for her entire life. She has been working as a pediatric dental assistant for several years now and enjoys working with children. She is great at making them feel at-home at the dental office. If you get to see Precious at the office, she will probably be talking with your child about how he can better care for his teeth at home. She's a great motivator! Precious is mother to a beautiful daughter. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family and friends. She loves watching movies and running around with her dog Blaine.
