At Palos Pediatric Dentistry, we treat your kids exactly like we would want our own to be treated.
We realize that every person’s financial situation is different. For this reason, we have worked hard to provide a variety of payment options to help your child receive the dental care that he needs and deserves that allows him to enjoy a healthy, beautiful smile. Dental treatment is an excellent investment in an individual’s medical and psychological care. Children with healthy teeth can sleep better, learn better, and feel better. We are always available to answer your questions or assist you in any way we can.
Should your child require any dental services beyond routine exams and cleanings, you will be given an explanation of treatment along with a written treatment plan. This includes an itemized breakdown of fees for each procedure, as well as an estimate of your insurance benefit. Any difference in price between our fee and your estimated insurance payment is due at the time of service. We can submit your child's treatment plan to your insurance company for pre-estimation. This will allow us to better estimate the insurance payment.
To maintain the practice operations and prevent potential misunderstandings, we ask patients to accept and adhere to the following financial arrangements regarding their dental treatment.
Optional Payment Terms:
Deductible and Co-Pay on Day-of-Service: As a courtesy to you, we will submit all required paperwork to your insurance company for reimbursement. We will also estimate your balance due after insurance. This balance is due on the day of service. Any remaining balance after insurance payment will be billed to you; any credit will be refunded promptly, or applied to your account at your request.
Major Service - Four Payment Option: We offer a four-payment option for dental treatment plans exceeding $500. We ask that you make your first of four monthly installments at the first operative appointment. There is no credit check and no interest or service charge for this service. You will need to authorize our office to bill your credit card each month for the remaining three payments.
Major Service – 36 Month Option: We offer a 36 month payment option for dental treatment plans exceeding $1000. A deposit of $200 is required for this option, due at the first date of service. This option is available to those who qualify following a credit check. The interest rate is 15.9% APR for the term of the loan. We ask that you make your first of four monthly installments at the first operative appointment. You will need to authorize our office to bill your credit card each month for the remaining payments.
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, checks (under $500.00), debit cards, and all major credit cards.
We value the parent-child relationship, and we do allow parents to accompany their child or children throughout their experience at our office. While we do invite you back into treatment rooms, we also ask that you are positive and supportive and that you let our experienced staff direct the interaction with your child.

You and your child are so excited about losing that first tooth, but then the permanent tooth starts coming in and the baby tooth hasn’t fallen out yet, and he starts to look like Jaws! Don’t worry, this is very common, and it almost always resolves naturally.
We Will Monitor Your Child's Baby Teeth
During an appointment at Palos Pediatric Dentistry, I would want to check to be sure that they baby tooth is at least a little mobile. Then I would monitor at their check-up visits to be sure that the baby tooth is loosening more and more. Most often, the baby tooth falls out on its own. After it does, pressure from the tongue helps to move the permanent tooth forward, toward the correct position.

Are there any alternatives to sedation or general anesthesia?
For a variety of reasons, there are some parents who are against sedation or anesthesia, or there are some children who are not able to tolerate anesthesia. There are also situations where anesthesia is the only reasonable option. I try to work with each individual family to come up with a treatment option that meets your child’s dental needs and fits with your values and priorities.
I work out of three locations for general anesthesia cases. Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital is staffed by board certified anesthesiologists with advanced training in pediatrics. The same anesthesia group covers Tinley Woods Surgery Center, where I am also on staff. Finally, I work with both Dr. Messieha and Dr. Higgins for in-office anesthesia. There are several factors that can affect which location might be best for your child. I am happy to discuss those factors in person.
Accepted Insurance Plans at Palos Pediatric Dentistry
We accept most types of dental insurance. As a courtesy, we will submit your dental claims to your insurance company and apply payments to your account. Even if we are not an in-network provider, we will still submit all claims for you. We do ask for payment of the estimated patient portion at the time of service. Please see our Financial Information for more details.
